Clínica Veterinária Dr. Vieira Lopes is located in Cascais. In our Veterinary Clinic we provide all the health care and services for companion animals, including exotics.
We are open for 10am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday (including Saturday), and we provide a 24 hours permanent emergency service, by contacting our emergency phone, after the Clinic's closing time, on Sundays and Holidays: 964015950.

Joaquim José Vieira Lopes
Veterinary Surgeon - Clinical Director
Graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 1981, at Escola Superior de Medicina Veterinária of the Technical University of Lisbon.
Did a Ld. St. Residency in Small Animal Surgery at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital - University of California, Davis, USA (1984/1985).
Did the Hip and Elbow Dysplasia Certificate - Canine Hip Dysplasia and Elbow Disease Evaluation Course in Espoo – Finland (September 1993).
Worked at the Instituto Veterinário Dr. Marques de Almeida in Várzea de Sintra (1981/1982)
Worked at the Small Animal Surgery department of the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, University of California (1984/1985).
Works in Small animal Clinic in Cascais, since 1985.
Owner, founder and Clinical Director of Clínica Veterinária Dr. Vieira Lopes, in Cascais.
Works in Large Animal Clinic on his own and his family's farms in Avis, Mora and Ponte de Sôr, in Alto Alentejo.
Founding member and former President of the Portuguese Association of Veterinary Surgeons Specialized in Small Animals (APMVEAC).
Former Vice Presindent of the Conselho Directivo of the Ordem dos Médicos Veterinários in 2008/2009.
Clinical Director and Member of the Council of Associação S. Francisco de Assis in Cascais.
Proponent of the criation of the European Group of Hereditary Diseases of FECAVA, in FECAVA / SCIVAC Congress, Bolonha (I) em 1998.
João Vieira Lopes
Veterinary Surgeon
Graduated and did an Integrated Masters at Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária at University of Lisbon in 2010.
Did his curricular externiship at The Wylie Veterinary Centre in London in 2009.
In 2011-2012 undertook a Small Animal Rotating Internship at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh.
Completed an European Certificate in Small Animal Surgery at the European School of Veterinary Postgradute Studies.
Has particular interest in Small Animal Surgery (Dog and Cat) and Exotic Animals Medicine and Surgery.
Works in Large Animal Clinic in Avis, Mora and Ponte de Sôr, in Alto Alentejo.
